Jen has MS, but MS doesn’t have Jen!
Hi There Beautiful Disaster Tribe! I would like you to meet Jen. While most girls are starting to party their asses off Jen was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. (MS) involves an immune-mediated process in which an abnormal response of the body’s immune system is directed against the central nervous system which is made up of the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. MS causes a Laundry List of symptoms and would give anyone every excuse they need to bitch and moan – well not Jen! You are a kick ass BD and you make us proud! xoxo
Here’s Jen….
I often call myself a Beautiful Disaster, which is why I am drawn to the clothing line. Represent!
Here is why:
A few years back, at age 21, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, a crippling autoimmune disease that attacks the nerves. I found myself mentally and physically exhausted, weak, and unable to do physical activity as normal.
My life was over. I was headed fast toward life in a motorized chair. It has been a dark time.
Even simple tasks of taking care of myself were difficult.
Eventually I said, “Fuck MS” and decided to take matters into my own hands. I completely changed my diet, lifestyle, and educated myself regarding my health. My physical abilities are still lacking at times but, my mind is sharp and spirits are high and with my drive and endurance, I work 2 jobs and support myself completely…and I always look damn good while I do it!
I also give to my community, help out my dear friends and family, and I’m helping plan 2 of my friends’ weddings this year. My mental strength creates my physical strength. Though I feel this disaster is within me, I’m 27 and beautifully rockin at my life.
Thanks for reading my story.
